Terms of Use - ReadSync

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ReadSync ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

ReadSync is a PDF reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It keeps your reading position, highlights, notes and bookmarks in sync between your own Apple devices through your personal iCloud account. It provides a reading view with night mode and layout options, five highlight colours, notes, bookmarks, full-text search, the document's table of contents, and reading statistics.

The App reads PDF files. It does not support EPUB or other document formats.

3. Your Documents

You retain all rights to the documents you add to the App and to the notes and highlights you create. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to store and read the files you add. The App does not modify your original PDF files; highlights and notes are stored separately.

4. Syncing and iCloud

Syncing requires an active iCloud account and uses your own private iCloud storage. The App works offline, and syncing is never required in order to read. Availability, timing and reliability of syncing depend on Apple's services and on your network, and are outside our control. Keep your own copies of documents that matter to you.

5. Free and Pro Versions

The free version of ReadSync includes syncing across all your devices, a library of up to 5 documents, and up to 10 highlights or notes per document. These limits apply only to adding new items: everything already in your library stays fully readable, and deleting an item frees up room again.

ReadSync Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that removes both limits and unlocks reading statistics. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

Pricing, availability, and the exact contents of the Pro tier may change in future versions. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms; refunds are handled by Apple.

6. Analytics

Anonymous usage analytics are collected only if you allow them, and can be turned off at any time in the App's settings. See our Privacy Policy for what is and is not collected.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Definitely Human. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

8. Limitations of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Definitely Human shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the App, including loss of documents, highlights, notes, or reading progress. Please keep your own backups of files you wish to preserve.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
